The 'Pokémon Go' Plus Wearable Finally Launches Next Week

First announced nearly a year ago along with the game’s initial unveiling, Pokémon Go‘s Bluetooth-connected Plus wearable is finally dropping next after countless troubleshooting delays. Developer Niantic announcedtoday that the device will be available in most countries starting September 16 for just $35 USD.

So how does it work? Basically the gaming companion will allow you to keep your phone in your pocket as you go about your day, but continue to collect resources and help you capture Pokemon. According to Niantic, when you “pass by a PokéStop, Pokémon Go Plus will vibrate and light up and alert you to the location. You’ll even be able to collect new items just by clicking the Pokémon Go Plus. If there’s nearby Pokémon hiding in your area you’ll be alerted with lights and vibrations; catch the Pokémon with a button on Pokémon Go Plus and then continue on your way (later, you can check your Journal to see which Pokémon you’ve just caught).”

And if you want to catch ‘em all even more discreetly, you’re in luck: Niantic took to the stage yesterday in San Francisco at Apple’s big event to announce that Pokémon Go is coming to the Apple Watch.
