Parrot DISCO FPV
Originally seen as a prototype at 2016 CES in Vegas, the fixed-wing addition to parrot’s fleet is finally ready to hit the consumer market. While the typical rotor configuration has become standard in drone design, the DISCO FPV is designed to fly at speeds up to 50 mph with a total flight time of 45 minutes. Constructed with flexible polypropylene foam, a single rear propeller powers the drone, which is chock-full of on-board sensors including a GPS, barometer, magnetometer, gyroscope and accelerometer. The drone is controlled through the Parrot Skycontroller 2 as you get to view a fully immersive flying experience seen through the COCKPITGLASSES, which displays real-time flight metrics atop visuals captured through a built in 14-megapixel camera. Made with a wide-angle lens that offers a 90º field of view, the camera is stabilized on three axes and allows you to capture 32 GB of footage in 1080p full HD. Watch the video above to see the full capabilities, and be prepared for its September release, priced at $1,300 USD.
